When my own idea of the truth makes me run away from other people, then my truth is
not very sharing, nor very accurate. When my own idea of the truth makes me
judgmental or hard, then it is time to hear the quiet truth along the way. So here it is, as
unadorned as possible: The truth of Jesus does not make enemies of other people. It
doesn't write other people off because they differ from what Jesus teaches as ‘right.’
His truth is always, continually, consistently inviting. The truth of Jesus satisfies, a
‘living’ bread and water. It testifies with a gentle assurance that the Good Shepherd is the
only way to God, and that the person of Jesus is the truth Himself, manifest in the form of
a human being. His truth quenches your thirst with streams of living water that overflows
within you, making you whole-heartedly want to share experience with other people. The
truth of Jesus does not play games with your heart. Right remains right, and wrong still
wrong; and yet, somehow Jesus’ truth does not hurt, but heals! It is a healing ointment
for our wounds, a light in the darkness of our struggles. The truth of Jesus heals you.
